Telecaster 3, Switch Wiring Series - The next idea uses the tapped tele pickup i developed. I’d continually desired a tele or esquire pickup with two output levels: a decrease-output antique sound and a hotter sound with greater extent and maintain. I designed a version for alan dutton, jeff beck’s street manager. Jeff heard and favored it, and he used it on his guitar shop album. But you need to make one vital adjustment: the neck pickup’s cover must be grounded with a separate cord. Meaning you have to flip the pickup over and cut the little un-insulated jumper wire that connects to the cover. That leaves a 1/4-inch nub of twine connected to the duvet. Connect a new wire to that, and join it to floor.
This wiring works high-quality with any antique-output tele pickups. It’s also super with our 5-two® for tele pickups, which session players like brent mason and dean parks like because they provide first-rate tele twang, but with a slightly tighter, greater centered low cease. Can a person point me to a wiring diag for a tele, tele neck unmarried (2 cond), seymour duncan stk t2b (four cond), five-manner switch (neck handiest, neck and bridge collection, bridge parallel, bridge one coil, bridge collection), 2 vol no tone.
One in all my fav tele wirings may be very unorthodox … popular extent knob … then, a blender knob that is neck-best while rolled off all of the way, 50/50 blend of neck/bridge on the middle detent, and bridge-most effective when rolled all the way open … then, the three-manner blade switch becomes a tone control with a few resistors switched into the circuit to feature like a partially rolled-off tone manage … use a ordinary tele wiring to discover what ‘part way’ resistance readings of the tone pot sound top to you … i appreciated no resistance, 100k ohms, and 250k ohms for my 3 settings … to be honest, i rarely even left the ‘no resistance’ placing because the blender knob and varying in my choosing technique gave me all the tonal variety i wanted. With this wiring, function 1 is the bridge pickup, function 2 is the neck pickup, and function 3 is a dark neck pickup tone with all of the treble rolled off. That position 3 sound is simply too dark for lots of gamers, although a few men like it for gambling jazz or faking bass traces. However the coolest component is, while you’re in role 1, the tone knob acts as a mix transfer, and you could blend in as plenty or as little of the neck pickup as you like. There are a few virtually excellent blends in there that you can’t get with the standard wiring scheme.
